Hello Thinkers!
Posted on January 30th, 2009 13 commentsWelcome to Jesus All about Life Lies.
We are not alone in recognising the pyramid scheme that is the business of Jesus, and as part of the large percentage of Australians that do not have a faith in a god, have created this site with the sole reason of giving critical review to the ongoing campaigns of religious organisations actively spreading the ideas of religion under the veil of fact.
We will be bringing relevant information, critical review of Jesus All About Life campaigns, as well as parody to allow reason to also have a say when it comes to concepts that effect all of us as humans on this earth, and not just the overwhelming display of religious bigotry that has people of reason unable to voice any ideas opposite to that of religion, giving it rights above and beyond any other.
From religious organisations using tax free status to promote business oportunities in their flock, to reason based arguments and discussions on whether Jesus and god even exist, we will attempt to bring as much reason to the discussion, along with balance to the one sided discussions and advertising religious groups are allowed to make, whilst those of reason are forced to be silent.

Great to see a voice of reason discussing the opinions so many of us have

If Jesus can spend 150 thousand dollars a year on some rich boy’s racing ute, he doesn’t need a media campaign, he needs to remember what he said about hungry, poor people.
Or has he realised there’s more to be made salving the consciences of rich, fat bastards on the couch on Sunday arvos?

Jesus is a handy man to have on your side. He’s dead, so it’s hard to pin anything on him.
Meanwhile, back in reality, Jesus is a brand name for any kind of bull sh*t the liars want to sell.
Greedy? Jesus wants you to have more money! (Brian Houston of Hillsongs)
Sick? Jesus wants you to give me your money! (Benny Hinn, in Australia on a tax-free tour by luxury jet)
Jesus said this was our special secret, and not to tell. (Many an un-named church youth worker and priest)
Forget the Jesus thing: make these people stand up and be counted in their own names.
Jesus: the man who will say whatever you put in his mouth. All about lies.

What a shame we lost such a bright person, we can do with similarly “dedicated to the cause” people in the church! it’s a sad fact of life that not even Christians are perfect citizens, not this side of Heaven anyway. But you have to look at the big picture and remember that there are good bad in every area of of life and for that matter in every person. Good business sense will tell you that its not about individuals but about the overall achievement of any corporation that counts in other words percentages count, whether it be profits loss attrition etc. Every organisation has its ponies, stars and thorns. there are even weeds in the church but what did Jesus say? leave them there and we’ll get rid of them at harvest time, otherwise you’ll damage the surounding plant life. Compare the % of paedophiles in the church to those not? i’d like to say more but i’m running out of space, bye!

Kim – You didn’t lose: I walked. Not even christians are perfect: and the idea of heaven makes some of them even more imperfect than their fellow beings.
(This is a new paragraph: you might get to like them if you try!) So the mix of the overall population excuses the bad eggs in churches? No, that doesn’t wash. Either you hold yourselves to a higher standard, or you’re just like the rest of us, with two key differences:
1 – Your thieves, bigots, liars and exploiters use the name of some supposedly infallible, loving being as camouflage to get into the confidence of the gullible and those without guile; and
2- When they get caught out, your organisations close ranks to shield the wrongdoers from scrutiny, criticism, or any penalty they might have to render to Caesar’s modern equivalent, often to the great detriment of their victims. If your version of Jesus likes thieves, kid fiddlers and so forth in the church, then a church that tolerates its criminals and low-lives you shall be, and I will note you as one consenting to that.
Get it through your head that cheques written against the judgement day are a piss-poor excuse for letting another child be hurt, or another gullible person be robbed. As far as the rest of you “vegetables”, a little discomfort would probably let you realise that god is remarkably non-interventionist.
Your statistical exercise comparing paedophile numbers in and out of the churches? A pointless diversionary tactic. You cannot justify inaction.
NB: There will be no debate. You’ve been allowed your time on the soapbox. Stand up or get back on your knees.

If you claim to think and that many people think as you do, why then is there little activity on your website? Just curious.
Also why are you anonymous?

@Dan: You have employed a non-sequitur. Just spurious.
I’m Black. You’re Dan. That was easy. Bye.

@Kim Christian: In my vast church experience it was the weeds and thorns that grew unimpeded while the ponies, stars and sheep looked the other way or offered Christianity 101 excuses for despicable behaviour (eg Michael Gugliemuci faking cancer – “the devil made him do it” – the “devil” in this case being his love for porn).
(BTW I haven’t watched that much porn in my life but on the odd occasions I have, it’s never given me the urge to fake cancer!)
In my experience, it’s exactly those of us that were dedicated to the cause that find ourselves with no choice but to re-examine the existence of a god when his supposed representatives are doing such a piss poor job!

By stating the blatantly obvious as to the hypocritical workings of the established churches does tend to tar everyone with a profession of faith with the same brush. It may be of interest that not all of us are unaware as to the appalling state of the Church and the way it operates in this century. The current campaign with the intent to put the name of Jesus in the public forum by way of advertising is a feeble attempt to reinvigorate dead and dying local churches. If adherents to the Christian faith spent as much time obeying the Bible as they do studying it then such campaigns would cease to be necessary and the money could be better spent

Indeed, grandfather. Bob McGuire would be one such example.
I personally no longer have time for your mythos, but Bob’s acts speak volumes for his beliefs.

In times of need (especially this week)…i’ve seen the work done by salvation army, red cross, world vision, compassion international (which are all founded by Chistians), and i know a lot of Christian churches helping people…they are doing their part in meeting the needs of the most vulnerable people without discrimination on race, religion, beliefs…just reaching out to them, making a difference practically in the lives of people.. but then again people who are against Christians are busy finding faults in them.

Jas, your first (rejected) comment started a theme that this merely carries on. If you were better at reading you may have noticed I actually have something good to say for the works of some people.
Still, I am filled with contempt for this dodgy effort to sell hot chips, birds in pants, Comic Sans and “yummy corn” as being the sole province of Jesus, the guy who also stands as figurehead for child rapists, thieves and conmen.
I will give credit for both the good, like Father Bob McGuire, and for the bad, like the fast money men and those who act sharp in the name of charity to feather their own nests.

jas .. and christians doing stuff secular groups also do proves that their belief is right? How?
How does this justify them being able to do stuff like discriminate in the workplace?
How does this justify them being able to attack efforts of non-believers to have their children actually taught something during the time theirs are in scripture class? etc etc etc etc
Evil people are evil people, good people are good people. it does not take religion to define that. Indeed religion hides evil deeds as good ones.
